# Review candidates you've been sent

> What the link from a placement agency shows you, and how to ask for a student.

<Note>
This page is for **host firms** — companies being offered interns. If you work at
a placement agency, this is what your recipients see; send them this link along
  with the share link itself.
</Note>

A placement agency has sent you a private link to a list of students looking for
a placement. You don't need a Minto account, and there's nothing to install —
the link is all you need.

The link is yours alone. If several people at your company were sent one, each
gets a different URL, so the agency can see who looked at what.

## What you'll see

<Frame caption="A share link as the host firm sees it: the candidates on offer, and the internship they belong to.">
<img src="https://mintcdn.com/minto-web/cTjJ1uyhEmW_9Zhr/images/screens/public-share-page.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=cTjJ1uyhEmW_9Zhr&q=85&s=5a2f32452c3cbf7ae5cc0266440fa7b8" alt="A Minto share link page showing one candidate, the internship name and dates, the agency's note, and a Request candidate button." width="3200" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/public-share-page.png" />
</Frame>

* **The candidates** on the left, with a count.
* **The internship** across the top — its name, the dates the students would be
with you, and how long the placement runs.
* **A note from the agency**, if they left one.
* **Documents** for the selected candidate, such as a CV, when they've attached
  any.

The **All / Available / Requested** filter at the bottom left is useful once
you've asked for a few — it separates the ones you've already requested from the
ones still open.

## Ask for a candidate

Select the student, then select **Request candidate**.

That's the whole thing — there's no form and nothing further to confirm. A
message reads *"Request sent — the team will be in touch."*, the card switches to
**Pending review**, and the agency is notified.

You'll usually get a confirmation email as well. If the agency has automatic
approval turned on you'll get the approval email instead, which arrives in its
place rather than as well.

## What happens next

Your request goes to the agency, not straight into a booking. Someone there
reviews it and either assigns the student to you or comes back to you. You'll
get an email when they approve it.

Some agencies turn on automatic approval, in which case the student is assigned
to you as soon as you ask. Either way you'll hear from them.

## The link expires

Every link has an expiry date, shown at the top right — "Valid in 12 days", or
similar. Two weeks is typical, and agencies often shorten it to the day the
placement starts. On a narrow screen that panel is hidden, so check on a laptop
if you need to know how long you have.

After the expiry the link stops working.

The list also changes on its own while the link is live: students are removed
once they're placed somewhere, including with you. A candidate disappearing
usually means they've been placed, not that anything is wrong.

## Troubleshooting

**"Share link not found"**
Either the URL is incomplete — these links are long, so copy it from the
original message rather than retyping — or the agency has since withdrawn it.
Ask them for a fresh one.

**"This share link has expired"**
The window has closed. Ask the agency for a new link.

**"This share link has been revoked"**
The agency withdrew it, usually because the students have been placed. Any
request you'd already made is still on file with them.

**A student you wanted has vanished from the list.**
They've been placed. If you'd requested them, contact the agency directly — it
may have been with you.
